The
Figure Skating Program is divided into four seasons, Fall, Winter, Spring

The
Springdale Ballet Academy/Off-Ice Training
The
Springdale Ballet and Dance Academy's mirrored ballet studio is conveniently
located
down the hall from the ice rink, and is an integral part of the figure
skating training program.
Experienced teachers with extensive training who have enjoyed successful
careers with a
variety of respected companies teach the classically oriented curriculum.
Classes from
Pre-Ballet through Adult Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop are offered Monday
through Saturday,
in two semesters from September to June. Ballet and Dance classes are
also held during
the summer program.
A
combination package of skating group lessons and ballet is available.
Dance classes
are
open to everyone, but group lesson skaters and figure skaters are particularly
encouraged to sign up for these classes. We highly recommend the academy's
dance
instruction which is especially designed for skaters. An important component
in the
development of figure skaters, ballet builds strength and flexibility
and increases a skater's
awareness of carriage, upper body movement and artistic expression.
Jump/Stretch/Fitness
classes are also offered.
Private
dance lessons may be arranged with our instructors. Ballet teachers
may also
work with a skater and their coach to refine the choreography of their
freestyle or free
dance programs. A ballet recital is held at the end of the spring season.
In addition to
ballet classes, the summer ballet program includes Hip Hop and Broadway
Theatre Dance.
Registration
forms for dance classes are available in the lobby of Stamford Twin
Rinks.
